Cyveillance Applauds Microsoft Internet Explorer For its Unmatched Ability to Block Phishing Sites
Cyveillance Supplies Phishing Data Required to Identify and Stop Consumer Attacks
ARLINGTON, VA., October 9, 2006 – Cyveillance, the leading provider of online risk monitoring and management solutions, today recognizes Microsoft’s efforts to protect Internet Explorer users from phishing attacks. Named the best product for blocking phishing attacks according to technical services firm, 3Sharp, Internet Explorer 7 leverages Cyveillance phishing data to help ensure leading detection.
Cyveillance dynamically provides information to Microsoft of confirmed phishing web sites. Microsoft has integrated this data into the new Microsoft Phishing Filter technology, which is available for the MSN Search Toolbar and the preview betas of Internet Explorer 7 for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP SP2. Today this data is helping to improve online safety for millions of users worldwide.
“As phishing attacks become more and more sophisticated, vendors need to take an active role in protecting their customers, which is why Microsoft’s leadership is so important,” said Panos Anastassiadis, CEO of Cyveillance. “Cyveillance strives to provide the best online risk data available and we are proud of the actions our partners are taking to improve the security of online consumers. As criminals become even more aggressive, Cyveillance helps our partners stay at least one step ahead, so that their customers remain protected.”
Building on its success with partners, including Microsoft, Cyveillance recently announced the availability of comprehensive anti-phishing data feeds as part of a new OEM Content Program. Comprised of data sets collected via continuous Internet monitoring, this new OEM offering leverages Cyveillance’s industry-leading technologies to identify web sites that pose potential security risks. The first data set available through this program, the anti-phishing feed, provides comprehensive intelligence about phishing attacks on the Internet. As phishing sites are identified by Cyveillance, intelligence about each attack is published in real-time. This advanced intelligence is backed by a “No False Positives” service level agreement (SLA).
